Every person must cope with loss of a loved on his or her own terms.

1. VA Bereavement Counseling
Provided by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs
Free grief counseling for families of service members who died in service or as a result of service-connected conditions.

2. Jewish War Veterans of the USA (JWV)
Advocates for Jewish veterans and provides a strong community of support. Local chapters may offer grief support or connections to resources.

3. The National Jewish Center for Learning and Leadership (CLAL) – Healing & Spiritual Support
Offers Jewish wisdom, reflection, and spiritual guidance during times of loss.

4. Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS)
Provides compassionate care and resources to all those grieving the death of a military loved one. While not specific to Jewish veterans, they offer individualized support and Jewish spiritual liaisons.

5. The Jewish Board – Bereavement Support Groups
Based in New York but offers virtual services. Provides culturally sensitive grief counseling rooted in Jewish values.

6. Kaddish.com
An online platform connecting Jewish mourners with minyan services and help saying Kaddish. Offers spiritual support for Jewish families grieving a loss.

7. NAMI Homefront & Jewish Family Services (JFS)
JFS branches in many cities offer tailored grief and mental health services for veterans and their families, often with Jewish spiritual care.

8. The We Honor Veterans Program (via NHPCO)
Collaborates with hospices to offer specialized end-of-life care and bereavement support tailored to veterans. Ask if your hospice is a participating provider.

9. GriefShare – Veterans Focused Groups
Christian-based but inclusive support groups, sometimes hosted in Jewish-friendly or interfaith environments. Check local listings for veteran-specific grief support.
